CSP aims to provide high quality solutions for all our consulting, civil and structural engineering commissions.
The practice operates its own in-house Quality Management System.
The quality policy of CSP is published in a Quality Policy Manual which declares its commitment to providing professional services, with reasonable skill, care, and diligence, in all areas of civil and structural engineering to meet the client’s requirements.
To promote fulfilment of this commitment, a documented Quality Management system comprising of the Quality Policy Manual and a suite of System Procedures is implemented to manage, monitor and analyse all services and processes undertaken by the Practice in accordance with the requirements of BS5750:Part 1: 1987/EN29001: 1987.
Perry Stewart

Perry joined CSP as a director in 2020, bringing a wealth of experience after working in senior management positions in a variety of sectors, including Civil Engineering, property development, building maintenance, building services and marine construction in the UK, Scandinavia, Northern Europe, Australasia, and the USA.
Perry’s success has been through developing and implementing high-level strategies, managing a company’s overall operations and resources, and demonstrating leadership. He sets strategic goals, objectives, budgets, policies, and procedures to enhance market share, profitability and return on investment.
Alan Pipe
DirectorIEng AMIStructE
Alan joined the Company as Director in 2003 having previously worked at Associate level for a London based consultants. Alan is responsible for the delivery of a wide variety of projects throughout all Engineering sectors of varying value throughout the UK. Alan is the key client liaison for a number of our major projects and repeat Clients. Alan is responsible for Administration, HR, recruitment and supports other aspects of the management of the Practice.
Ziad El Asmar
Associate DirectorCEng MICE
Ziad joined CSP as an Associate Director in 2024, bringing a wealth of expertise from his work on major projects in data centers, fulfillment centers, and high-rise residential buildings across the MENA region, Europe, and the UK. His portfolio includes landmark developments like the Lusail Katara Towers in Qatar and the AMI Airport in Dubai. Ziad has also led structural engineering efforts for data centers serving major clients such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft, and Google.
Gill Fraser
Sales & Talent Acquisition DirectorGill has vast experience over 25 years in sales and marketing, working with IT businesses, and has significantly grown revenue and improved profitability, creating strong relationships and winning routes to market across ASIA Pac the Middle East and Europe. Gill uses her previous expertise, to help drive sales and also works with the rest of the management team to attract, recruit and retain high-quality, talented, individuals.
Dougal Rennie
Finance ManagerDougal joined CSP in 2025 as Finance Manager, bringing with him almost 40 years of experience in Banking & Accounts. He is responsible for supporting the Directors in making sure they have the right financial information at the right time to make the right decisions for the business.
Colin Pollard
Senior Principal EngineerB.Eng C.Eng P.E. MICE FIStructE
Colin originally worked with CSP in 2005 before moving abroad. Upon his return to the UK in 2016 we were delighted to see Colin re-join CSP as a Senior Principal Engineer. Colin has vast experience in the design of structures in all sectors. His experience is invaluable, which he passes on, in his role as a mentor, to Graduate Engineers and Technicians. Colin is responsible for a wide variety of projects and is involved on numerous major projects and with our key clients.
Andra Reblean
Engineering Team LeaderAndra is a strong engineering professional with a degree from ‘Politehnica’ University of Timisoara – Civil and Structural Engineering, and has a demonstrated history of successfully working alongside Clients and Design Teams to deliver a wide range of projects. Andra started working with CSP in 2016 as a Structural Design Engineer and has progressed to a key position of Team Leader.
Snehal Patel
Structural Design/Project EngineerSnehal joined CSP in May 2010 and is responsible for analysis & design and running wide range of projects of varying value. These include: Sunrise Senior Living Care homes, Re-construction of RC silos bins for Port of Tilbury and a 3 storey extension on top of office building in Hanger Lane. Snehal is fully involved in the design and analysis of structures with the use of British Standards, Eurocode, and FEM – structural analysis software.
Hiten Gorsia
Project EngineerHiten joined CSP in 2014 and has extensive experience of working on a variety of projects. His expertise includes the structural design of buildings of varying scale using various construction materials. He has exceptional ability to solve complex structural challenges and is keen to optimize designs while ensuring safe, efficient, and innovative engineering solutions
Nirpaul Panesar
BTEC & HNC – Senior TechnicianNirpaul has been working in the Industry since 1985. Initially from the drawing board to working with Revit, AutoCAD and RC Detailing. Nirpaul has worked in many sectors including Education, Health, Residential, Commercial, Refurbishments and small works.
Alex Dontu
Project EngineerAlex is an expert in analysis and design of structural elements using a wide range of design software based on British Standards and EUROCODES. He is involved in different type of projects from commercial, residential, and industrial use, with Various types of structures such as: reinforced concrete frames, steel frames, castellated beams with metal decks, trusses, composite, timber and masonry structures.
Jonni Gigli
Senior TechnicianJonni has been working as a Revit / Autocad Technician for 18 years between Italy and UK based structural firms. In 2014, he joined Clark Smith Partnership (CSP).
His experience extends from tower and industrial buildings in Dubai to residential, wine cellars, and hotel projects in Italy, and residential, care homes, schools, and high-rise buildings in the UK.”
Edward Prinn
Junior TechnicianEdward joined CSP as a junior technician in 2024 with experience from his previous education in engineering. He aspires to continue his career in Civil and structural engineering by going back into education as well as get the experience and learn from his fellow engineers.
Jamie Bugg
Senior Revit / CAD technician & ITsupport – BTEC & HNC.
Jamie joined CSP in 2007 and works with AutoCAD and Revit, detailing building designs, visualising our projects in 3D, and producing detailed documentation and construction drawings. Jamie is fully involved with many key CSP projects. He also is first line support and help desk with our IT systems.
Ann-Mary Anthony
Office ManagerWith a strong background in IT and administration, Ann is experienced in roles where she has balanced both technical support and office management, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. She loves staying organized, solving problems, and helping teams work more efficiently. She is always happy to lend a hand and keep things on track.

David Clark
ConsultantIEng MICE
David, along with Terry Smith, formed CSP in 1987, following working together as Associates for a major London Consultants, for 15 years.
David has vast experience in all aspects of Civil and Structural Engineering, over all Engineering Sectors both in the UK and abroad and retains engineering hands on approach to projects under his direct control.
Now a Consultant, David maintains close liaison with CSP providing Expert Advice.
Terry Smith
ConsultantBSc (HONS) CEng MIStructE FConsE
Terry, along with David Clark, formed CSP in 1987, following working together as Associates for a major London Consultants, for 15 years.
Terry achieved Chartered Engineer status in 1984 and in 1992 was elected as Member of The Association of Consulting Engineers. He was then elected to Fellow of The Institution of Structural Engineers in 1997.
Terry is now in semi-retirement but remains a valued member of the engineering team and continues to support the management of the Practice.
Professor RS Narayanan
ConsultantBE(Hons) DIC MSc FREng FIStructE
Professor Nary Narayanan has over 55 years of experience in Consulting Engineering and is a consultant to CSP.
Has acted as Expert Witness in building litigation and has appraised research proposals submitted to EPSRC.
Nary was Chairman of Eurocode 2 (Design of concrete structures and Working Group 2 of BSI Committee responsible for Wind Loading Code). He was visiting Professor at University of Leeds and sat on Advisory Committee of the School of Engineering.
He has lectured extensively on Eurocodes around the World and is the author of many Publications.
To achieve quality and service objectives, the Practice seeks to adopt a system of prevention rather than cure and of ensuring that staff approach every aspect of work in a professional and efficient manner. The Practice will provide whatever resources are reasonably required (including training and staff development) to implement, maintain and improve the Practice’s systems. This system ensures the following:
- Design solutions are developed in accordance with current best practice
- Design solutions are checked and reviewed throughout the design process by fully qualified and competent members of staff
- The Practice complies with current UK and EC legislation and regulations. Including, all British Standards, Building Regulations, and Codes of Practice
- The Practice complies with legislation specifically related to its business activities
- The Practice continually monitors its quality performance and output implementing improvements when and where appropriate
- The Practice has an in-house technical Library resource that includes Technical Publications, updated Codes of Practice, and design standards, NBS, ACE Appointments/CW’s and product library, information retained as appropriate both in hard copy and digital format. This is controlled by our in-house very experienced and qualified librarian Wendy White.
- The Practice also subscribes to online technical databases and resources.
Our aim is to provide a high quality, value for money service on all our projects since a happy and satisfied client will most likely become a repeat client. With many of our commissions being either repeat business or secured through recommendation, our approach to projects is clearly well received, although we continually strive for improvement.
