50 Stratton Street was originally constructed during the early 1930ís and comprised a steel frame with infill hollow pot floors. It was acquired by the Burford Group in 1997 for redevelopment. Being unsuitable for refurbishment due to the poor floor configuration, demolition and new build was the chosen option.
Being situated over the Victoria Line running tunnels, foundation design was critical and CSP were involved in detailed liaison and negotiation with LUL, after the completion of complex ground modelling. CSP were required to monitor tunnel movement through out the demolition and construction phases of the project.
